This invention discloses an electrically driven elevation bed which, improves the utilisation of both floor and wall space. The elevation bed includes an improved driving system, which allows the driving system to be detached from the bed and independently returned to its raised position leaving the mattress frame on the floor free of attachment to allow it to be easily moved to where required. This allows the apparatus to be mounted away from the walls leaving them free for other usage. The driving system also includes a sub system that repositions the support legs of the bed as the mattress frame is raised to its elevated storage position so that the raised profile of the complete apparatus is of minimal proportion. The mattress frame of the elevation bed includes an improved system for positioning the mattress such that the bed can be used for other usages.
