An elevator cab includes an indentation in the shape of the cab. The indentation permits the cab to be compact without compromising the floor area of the cab. In a particular embodiment, the indentation accommodates the presence of a machine in the hoistway whent the cab is adjacent to the machine.

L'invention a pour objet une cabine d'ascenseur, qui comprend un renfoncement qui a la forme de la cabine, grâce auquel ladite cabine peut être compacte sans que sa zone de plancher soit réduite. Dans un mode de réalisation particulier, le renfoncement permet de loger une machine dans la cage lorsque ladite cabine est contiguë à la machine.
