Abstract Elevator Car Mounting Assembly The elevator car is disposed in a frame which moves on rails through the elevator hoistway. A pendulum mount is used to mount the car in the frame so that the car is free to swing within the frame in pendulum fashion. Both lateral and torsional swinging movement of the car within the frame are controlled. A combination spring/damper assembly interconnects the car and the frame to control such lateral movements of the car whereby the car is softly stabilized within the frame.
