An elevator for handling tubulars, said elevator having an elevator body (102) , a door (40a) and a latch characterised in that the elevator comprises a verification lock (162,164) to indicate the latch is fully closed. Also disclosed is an elevator comprising an elevator body (20) and a hinged door characterised in that the hinged door has a handle (70) to operate a latch (50) , the latch comprising a latch body rotatable about a shaft (54) , the handle (70) having a handle lip for co- acting with a lip (53) located on the latch body to inhibit release of the latch (50) and the elevator body (20) comprising a lockbar (29) and the latch body comprising a lockbar recess (58) into which said lockbar (29) fits.

L'invention concerne un élévateur de manutention d'éléments tubulaires. Ledit élévateur est équipé d'un corps élévateur (102), d'une porte (40a) et d'un verrou. L'élévateur comprend une fermeture de vérification (162, 164) pour indiquer que le verrou est bien fermé. L'invention concerne en outre un élévateur comprenant un corps élévateur (20) et une porte articulée se caractérisant en ce que ladite porte articulée est dotée d'une poignée (70) destinée à actionner un verrou (50), ledit verrou comprenant un corps de verrou tournant autour d'un arbre (54). La poignée est dotée d'une languette destinée à coopérer avec une languette (53) située sur le corps de verrou afin d'inhiber la libération du verrou (50) et le corps élévateur (20) comprend une barre d'arrêt (29) et le corps de verrou un évidement (58) qui épouse la barre d'arrêt (29).
