An applicator for placing an insert within a vagina. The insert can be a catamenial tampon, incontinence device, medicament, dressing, and the like. The applicator has orientation indicators to allow the user to properly orientate the insert within the vagina. The applicator also has an inwardly curved radius on the leading edge to reduce any resistance during insertion and withdrawal of the applicator. The applicator may also have at least one vent to facilitate expulsion of the insert or to deliver medicaments or lubricants inside the body cavity. The insert applicator has a rounded cross- section to maximize the available space for the insert, while also facilitating insertion of the applicator into the vagina.

L'invention concerne un applicateur permettant de placer un insert dans un vagin. Ledit insert peut être un tampon cataménial, un dispositif d'incontinence, un médicament, un pansement et analogue. L'applicateur comprend des indicateurs de sens permettant à une utilisatrice d'orienter correctement l'insert dans le vagin. Il présente un rayon incurvé vers l'intérieur sur le bord avant afin de réduire toute résistance pendant l'introduction et le retrait dudit applicateur. Il peut également comprendre au moins une fente afin de faciliter l'expulsion de l'insert ou de distribuer des médicaments ou des lubrifiants à l'intérieur de la cavité corporelle. L'applicateur d'insert possède une section transversale arrondie permettant de maximiser l'espace disponible pour l'insert, tout en facilitant l'introduction de l'applicateur dans le vagin.
