Elliptical waveguide is formed by feeding an electrically conductive strip (1) through a forming toot (2) and pressing the formed strip onto a mandrel (5) in a helical configuration. The adjacent edges of the strip are mechanically interlocked by folding over each other to impart flexible and twistable properties to the waveguide. A seaming wire may be interposed in the folds to re- duce escape of electromagnetic energy. The edges may also be soldered to form flexible waveguide.
