A method for forming a custom printed sheet bearing a layer of adhesive using a printer that drives a sheet along a sharply arcuate path past printing head means on the printer. An elongate sheet composite (10) is provided that includes an elongate primary sheet portion (11) of a width adapted to be received and fed through the printer, and a secondary sheet portion (17) positioned adjacent the primary sheet portion with edges of the primary and secondary sheet portions generally aligned; and a layer (24) of pressure sensitive adhesive extending between the adjacent surfaces of the sheet portions. The sheet composite has transverse paths of weakness (28) at spaced locations along its length to define a concatenation of sheet composite segments. The sheet composite is folded in opposite directions along successive transverse paths of weakness to form a stack of sheet composite segments. The sheet composite is fed from the stack longitudinally through the printer while the printer is actuated to form a desired message along a portion of the sheet composite, after which the printed portion of the sheet composite can be torn off, and its first and second portions separated to expose the layer of adhesive so that the message bearing portion of the sheet composite can be adhered to a substrate.
Procédé d'obtention d'une feuille imprimée, comportant une couche de colle, adaptée aux besoins de l'utilisateur, ce procédé mettant en oeuvre une imprimante qui entraîne une feuille le long d'une voie extrêmement courbée passant devant la tête d'impression située sur l'imprimante. Un matériau composite en feuille, allongé (10) comprend une partie primaire allongée (11) dont la largeur est adaptée pour être réceptionnée et entraînée dans l'imprimante, et une partie secondaire (17) adjacente à la partie primaire, les bords des feuilles primaire et secondaire étant généralement alignés; et une couche (24) d'adhésif autocollant s'étendant entre les surfaces adjacentes des parties de la feuille. Le matériau composite en feuille comporte des lignes d'affaiblissement transversales (28) espacées sur la longueur et formant une concaténation de segments composites. Ledit composite est plié dans des sens opposés le long des lignes d'affaiblissement transversales successives et forme une pile de segments. Il est entraîné longitudinalement à partir de la pile pour pénétrer dans l'imprimante tandis que celle-ci est actionnée, de façon à ce qu'on obtienne un message désiré le long d'une partie du matériau composite en feuille, la partie imprimée étant ensuite détachée, et les première et seconde parties séparées pour exposer la couche de colle de sorte que la partie du matériau composite en feuille portant le message puisse être collée sur un substrat.
