A board (14) straightening tool (20) able to provide the force to straighten bent boards (14) by simultaneously maintaining a grasping connection to both the joist (16) being used to support the straightening device and the board (14) being fastened to that joist (16). Additionally, and importantly, each tool (20) maintains a clearance between itself and the board being fastened to the joists so that an edgemount board-fastener can be used to provide for an installer to install the board-fastener on the same joist that is supporting the tool in order to obtain the straightest possible installed boards and, importantly to maintain the maximum straightness of the deck board after the straightening device is released. The grasping pins (2) are constructed either from a knurled metal for more grasp power or have a smooth surface providing for reduction of marring of the joist. The tool also provides the force required to maintain consistently spaced gaps between the boards for a more desirable appearance.
Cette invention concerne un outil (20) à dégauchir les planches (14) apte à fournir la force nécessaire pour redresser des planches cintrées (14) en maintenant simultanément une prise de saisie avec la solive (16) utilisée pour supporter le dispositif de dégauchissement, ainsi qu'avec la planche (14) fixée à ladite solive (16). De plus, et de manière significative, chaque outil (20) maintient un dégagement entre lui-même et la planche fixée aux solives de manière à permettre l'utilisation d'un dispositif de fixation de planches monté en extrémité. Ainsi, un installateur peut installer le dispositif de fixation de planches sur la même solive qui supporte l'outil afin que les poutres posées soient les plus droites possible, et afin de maintenir une rectitude maximale de l'élément de plancher après le retrait du dispositif de dégauchissement. Les broches de saisie (2) peuvent être faites d'un métal moleté pour offrir une puissance de saisie supérieure, ou bien elles peuvent présenter une surface lisse assurant la réduction des rayures de la solive. L'outil fournit également la force requise pour maintenir des espacements réguliers entre les planches, pour leur assurer une apparence plus agréable.
