A battery cell, such as a cylindrical or prismatic alkaline cell, is disclosed having significantly improved capacity utilization at mid-range power levels of discharge by implementing a curvilinear-like inner electrode configuration that provides moderated surface area between the inner and outer electrodes as compared to high-power discharge applications utilizing a densely corrugated geometry for the inner electrode.

La présente invention se rapporte à une pile, telle qu'une pile alcaline cylindrique ou prismatique, qui présente une utilisation de capacité considérablement améliorée à des niveaux de décharge moyens. A cette fin, la pile selon l'invention fait appel à une configuration d'électrode interne de type curviligne, qui permet d'obtenir une surface active modérée entre les électrodes interne et externe, par rapport aux applications de décharge à grande puissance recourant à une géométrie à ondulations denses pour l'électrode interne.
