The method of the present invention is directed to masking or protecting a substrate utilizing a protection sheet (10) having a contact surface containing a plurality of protrusions (14) spaced apart by a plurality valleys (12), and an opposing back surface containing a plurality of hollow portions corresponding to the protrusions (14). The valleys (12) of the contact surface of the protection sheet (10) are coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive (16), while the protrusions (14) provide spacing which prevents premature sticking of the protection sheet (10) onto the substrate. The invention is particularly suited for use in automotive repair applications.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant le masquage ou la protection d'un substrat au moyen d'une feuille de protection (10) comprenant une surface de contact qui présente une pluralité de parties en saillie (14) espacées par une pluralité de creux (12), et une surface arrière opposée qui présente une pluralité de parties creuses correspondant aux parties en saillie (14). Les creux (12) de la surface de contact de la feuille de protection (10), sont revêtues d'un adhésif sensible à la pression (16) alors que les parties en saillie (14) servent à l'écartement qui permet d'éviter le collage prématuré de la feuille de protection (10) sur le substrat. L'invention convient en particulier à l'utilisation dans des applications de réparation automobile.
