ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION An embossed plastic suede material, which material is prepared by the method of embossing under heat and pressure parti- cular areas of a layer of a cellular plastic material characterized by a suede-like surface to provide an embossed surface composed o valley areas and peak areas, the peak areas characterized by a suede-like surface, the cellular structure beneath the valley areas differing from the cellular structure beneath the peak areas and characterized by a higher cell density.
