EMBOSSED THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An embossed thermoplastic film characterized in that one surface of the film is provided with a plurality of rows of substantially truncated, parallelogram-shaped protuberances which extend perpendicular to both the longitudinal and the transverse axes of the film. The protuberances in one of the rows of protuberances aligned with one of the axes are offset from the protuberances in the next adjacent row of protuberances by about one-half the width of the length of the base of an individual protuberance. The embossed film has little or no tendency to curl when subjected to tension in the longitudinal or machine direction.
