The use of a repeating embossing pattern on a wet-laid cellulosic fibrous structure (10) is described to improve the cleaning performance of said cellulosic fibrous structure (10), said embossing pattern being non-continuous in at least one diagonal direction and comprising non-equidistant discrete embossing sites (14), the cleaning performance index (CPIE) being not less than 105, wherein said index (CPIE) is represented in terms of the following equation CPIE = (CPVE - CPVR) x 100+100/CPVR. The cleaning performance index (CPIE) is preferably 110. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the embossing pattern is of an angular nature. In a more preferred embodiment of the present invention, the embossing pattern is in the form of a rhombus.

L'utilisation d'un motif de gaufrage à répétition sur une structure (10) fibreuse cellulosique obtenue par voie humide permet d'améliorer la performance de nettoyage de cette même structure (10). Le motif de gaufrage est non continu dans au moins une direction en diagonale et comprend des endroits (14) de gaufrage séparés non équidistants; l'indice de performance de nettoyage (IPN¿E?) n'est pas inférieur à 105, cet indice (IPN¿E?) étant représenté par l'équation CPI¿E? = (CPV¿E? - CPV¿R?) x 100+100/CPV¿R? . L'indice de performance de nettoyage (IPN¿E?) est de préférence égale à 110. Dans une réalisation préférée de cette invention le motif de gaufrage est de nature angulaire. Dans une réalisation de l'invention plus préférée encore le motif de gaufrage a la forme d'un losange.
