An emergency call system includes emergency call means (15), communication means (6, 7, 16, 13), change-over means (8), and electric current limiting means (17). The emergency call means (15) performs an emergency call to a center in an emergency of a vehicle. The communication means (6, 7, 16, 13) communicates with the center, wherein the communication means (6, 7, 16, 13) includes sound output means (6) and drive means (16) for driving the sound output means (6). The change-over means (8) changes a power supply source from a main power source (18) to an auxiliary power source (19). The electric current limiting means (17) limits an electric current of the drive means (16) when the change-over means (8) changes the power supply source to the auxiliary power source (19).
