A window module (20) has a fixed-pane window (24) which is encapsulated by a molded trim piece having an integral portion which extends around an adjacent movable window opening. The integral trim (28) is formed of EPDM. The window module (20) is constructed by placing a window pane (24), a division post (26) and the end (58) of an extruded EPDM trim strip (34) into a mold having a window pane receiving portion (54), a division post receiving portion (52) and a header extrusion (trim strip) receiving portion (56), into which EPDM is injected to integrate and encapsulate the inserts.

L'invention porte sur un module de fenêtre (20) comportant une vitre fixe (24) encapsulée dans une moulure de garnissage présentant une portion en faisant partie intégrante qui se prolonge autour de l'ouverture contiguë d'une fenêtre mobile. Ladite moulure (28) est faite d'EPDM. La fabrication du module de fenêtre (20) consiste à placer une vitre (24), un montant de séparation (26) et l'extrémité (58) d'une baguette de garnissage d'EPDM (34) dans un moule comportant une partie recevant la vitre (54), une partie recevant le montant (52) et une partie recevant le profilé supérieur (baguette de garnissage) (56), dans lequel on injecte de l'EPDM pour solidariser et enrober les composants insérés.
