An encapsulated-lens retroreflective sheeting comprising a monolayer of lenses partially embedded in a binder layer, a specularly reflective layer underlying the lenses in optical association therewith, and a cover film bonded to the binder layer, wherein said cover film comprises a polyester film or a polyvinyl chloride film. The cover film has an adhesion bonding interface on the surface in at least partial contact with the binder layer. The sheetings of the invention exhibit improved dimensional stability under heat and shrink resistance while maintaining impact resistance and other desirable properties of pavement markings.

Revêtement réfléchissant à lentilles encapsulées comprenant une monocouche de lentilles partiellement encastrées dans une couche liante, une couche à réflexion spéculaire se trouvant sous les lentilles en association optique avec celles-ci, et un film de couverture fixé à la couche liante, ce film de couverture comprenant un film polyester ou un film de chlorure de polyvinyle. Le film de couverture comporte une interface d'adhésion située sur la surface qui est en contact au moins partiel avec la couche liante. Les revêtements de l'invention présentent une meilleure stabilité dimensionnelle à la chaleur et une meilleure résistance au rétrécissement tout en conservant une résistance aux chocs et d'autres propriétés souhaitables relatives à la signalisation horizontale.
