An enclosure for cable joined by a cable splice assembly. The enclosure has an elongated tubular casing to enclose said cable splice assembly. The casing has end walls at least one of which has an orifice therein to accommodate the cable. The casing is formed of a first section and a second section that are joined by an integral hinge, and has a latch for retaining the first and second sections in a closed position. The casing preferably has at least one projection therein juxtaposed to each of said end walls, the projections being spaced apart by a distance that is greater than the length of said cable splice assembly and retaining said cable splice assembly spaced away from said end walls, and water repellent gel within the casing. The casing is formed from an insulating polymer and the enclosure is rotatable around the cable splice assembly.
