ABSTRACT Through a centrally placed ingot there is formed an injection moulded cover or end closure for a packaging container com- prising at least an outer layer and an easy opening device formed therein, said device having a grip and a tearing denotation starting therefrom. The tearing device comprises a first weakening line which merges into a circumferential, all around the end closure extending tearing device, and a second weakening line which does not fully encompass the centrally placed ingot. Between the ingot and the end of the second weakening line and the transition region between the grip and the tearing devices there is formed a wide material flow passage. A material weakening wall thickness reduction in the shape of a blind groove has a substantial extension in the circum- ferential direction and bridges over the material flow passage. Flow openings for circumferential deflection of material are arranged at each end of the material flow passage.
