ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure is o f a fabricated valve body compris- ing a cylindrical steel body tube made of pipe or rolled steel plate. A flat end closure is made of thicker steel plate but has depending cylindrical portions conforming in diameter and thickness to that of the body tube. The cylindrical portions may be produced by forming an annular groove around a circular plate with the portions radially outward of the groove equal in radial thickness to the body tube. In other embodiments outer portions of the plate are machined to reduced thickness and bent down to form the cylindrical portions.
