An end member (10) for use with an implant for fusion of bones, particu-larly of vertebrae is disclosed. The end member (10) has a first portion (12), a second portion (14), and a shoulder (16) connecting the two portions (12; 14). The second portion (14) is sized to fit with the bone fusion implant in such a fashion that the shoulder rests on the edge of the im-plant. The top surface (18) of the first portion (12) has at least one channel (20) to receive a surgical instrument such as an inserter and/or distractor to facilitate im-plantation of the end member and bone fusion implant. The top surface (18) may also have teeth to provide initial mechan-ical stability between the bone and end plate and promote bone fusion.

L'invention concerne un élément d'extrémité (10) à utiliser avec un implant de soudure d'os comme les vertèbres. Ledit élément d'extrémité (10) possède une première partie (12), une deuxième partie (14) et un épaulement (16) reliant les deux parties (12, 14). La deuxième partie (14) est dimensionnée de sorte qu'elle s'adapte dans l'implant de soudure et que l'épaulement repose sur le bord de ce dernier.
