Case 3030 END RING ASSEMBLY FOR DYNAMOELECTRIC MACHINE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is provided an end ring assembly for a squirrel cage rotor of an induction motor. The assembly includes an end ring supporting structure for electrically interconnecting the ends of the rotor bars. Instead of a steel retaining ring being used to minimize displacement of the rotor bars and end ring assembly relative to the rotor core structure, the present invention utilizes a glass resin banding wound about the rotor. By using a glass banding reinforcement, the weight of the end ring support structure is reduced which increases the torsional resonant frequency of the end ring assembly.
