ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of curing belt sleeves or bands of endless belts in an open-end press comprises partially curing a first circumferential segment of the sleeve or bands to define a first step between platens of the press, incrementally advancing the sleeve or bands an amount that defines a second step between the platens which overlaps a portion of the first segment, further curing the overlapped portion of the first segment while partially curing the newly introduced portion between the platens of the second step, and repeating the steps of partially curing and advancing the sleeve until the overlap portion of the first segment is cured as it leaves the platens and repeating with successive steps of partially curing and advancing the sleeves or bands until the total sleeve or bands are cured.
