Described herein are several embodiments of a trim saw for trimming lumber work pieces. For example, in one exemplay embodiment, a reduced waste single column trim saw for cutting a workpiece having multiple aligned workpiece components that are assembled together can include a frame member, an endless band saw blade, and first and second blade turning regions. The frame member can include at least one driving wheel and at least one driven wheel. The endless band saw blade can extend about and be movably retained by the at least one driving wheel and at least one driven wheel such the endless band saw blade is horizontally drivable through a workpiece cutting region. The trim saw can include a first blade turning region proximate a first end of the workpiece cutting region and a second blade turning region proximate a second end of the workpiece cutting region. The blade can be turned approximately ninety degrees in the first blade turning region and again turned approximately ninety degrees in the second blade turning region.
