A new endogenous hypertensive system detected in human and rat plasma is described which involves a novel hypertensive pressor protein and a pressor peptide in the blood pressure regulatory system. The new system is analogous to the renin - angiotensin hypertensive system for which commercially useful angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors are known. The invention provides pharmaceutical compositions for raising or lowering blood pressure comprising the hypertensive pressor protein and pressor peptide and converting enzyme inhibitors. Use of soybean trypsin inhibitor in lowering blood pressure and compositions therefor are described.
Nouveau système hypertensif détecté dans le plasma de l'être humain et du rat, faisant appel à une nouvelle protéine vasopressive hypertensive et à un peptide vasopressif dans le système de régulation de la tension artérielle. Ce nouveau système est analogue au système hypertensif rénine-angiotensine, pour lequel on connaît des inhibiteurs des enzymes de conversion de l'angiotensine utiles sur le plan commercial. L'invention comprend des compositions pharmaceutiques qui élèvent ou abaissent la tension artérielle, et qui contiennent la protéine vasopressive hypertensive et le peptide vasopressif en question, de même que des inhibiteurs des enzymes de conversion. L'utilisation d'un inhibiteur trypsine de la fève de soja pour abaisser la tension artérielle et les compositions utilisées à cette fin sont décrites.
