A device and method for treating pathological narrowing of fluid-carrying conduits of the human body (such as blood vessels) in an area of a bifurcation is disclosed. In particular, a stent system (10) comprising a pair of dissimilar stents (12, 14), one of which is particularly suited for treating a widened portion of a blood vessel immediately proximal to a bifurcation (30). A stent delivery system (100) including a handpiece (102) adapted to selectively deliver the stents (12, 14) is also disclosed.
L'invention concerne un dispositif et une méthode destinés à traiter un rétrécissement pathologique de conduits de transport de liquide du corps humain (tels que les vaisseaux sanguins) dans une zone d'une bifurcation. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne un système de stents (10) comprenant une paire de stents dissemblables (12, 14) dont l'un convient particulièrement au traitement d'une partie élargie d'un vaisseau sanguin immédiatement proximale par rapport à une bifurcation (30). L'invention se rapporte en outre à un système de pose de stent (100) comprenant une pièce à main (102) permettant une mise en place sélective des stents (12, 14).
