An endoscope (10) includes an outer tube (12) having a sharpened distal end (14) and a retractable sleeve (18) slidably disposed in the outer tube (12). An image conduit (20) is attached to the distal end of the retractable sleeve (18) for imaging any object in contact with the distal tip (26) of the image conduit (20).
