Abstract of the Disclosure Apparatus for controlling the video signal level of a color endoscope to prevent the picture from blooming as the viewing head of the instrument is moved toward and away from a confined target. Circuit means are provided for automatically controlling both the amplified gain of the signal and the intensity of the illumination used to light the target during a series of color imaging se- quences so that the color balance of the system is not disturbed.
