A medical sealing device (10) is provided that substantially seals around one or more medical devices (15, 16) that are placed into the working channel (17) of an endoscope; wherein the one or more medical devices have an irregular cross-sectional profile. When a sufficient back pressure or surface tension is present in the working channel, the sealing device collapses a portion of itself and conforms to a portion of the one or more medical devices present in the working channel, thus forming a seal around and between the one or more medical devices. The seal thereby substantially prevents the escape of fluids from the working channel.

L'invention concerne un appareil d'étanchéité médicale qui rend sensiblement étanche le pourtour d'un ou de plusieurs appareils médicaux qui sont placés dans le canal actif d'un endoscope, ledit ou lesdits appareils médicaux ayant un profil irrégulier en coupe. Lorsqu'une contre-pression ou une tension superficielle suffisante est présente dans le canal actif, une partie de l'appareil d'étanchéité s'affaisse et se conforme à une partie du ou des appareils médicaux présents dans le canal actif, formant ainsi une étanchéité autour et entre le ou les appareils. Ainsi l'étanchéité empêche sensiblement une fuite de liquides depuis le canal actif.
