- 14 - ABSTRACT A viewing device for endoscopic procedures is disclosed. It incorporates an endoscope, a hollow tube slideable over and rotatable about the endoscope, and a Fresnel prism at the end of the tube to receive and refract light rays emanating from the scope into the body cavity. The Fresnel prism attached to the tube provides an angular deviation in the illumination and viewing direction of the scope, and hence provides a broadened accessible visual field during endoscopic surgery without effecting the orientation of the field.
