A major deployment device comprises a capsule catheter with a flexible elongate tubular member and a flexible capsule mounted on the distal extremity of the flexible elongate tubular member having an open end. A graft is disposed within the capsule. A balloon catheter comprises a flexible elongate tubular member with a balloon secured to its distal extremity, the flexible elongated tubular member extending through the graft and through the capsule and through the flexible elongated tubular member secured to the capsule. Retention means carried by the flexible elongated tubular member of the balloon catheter engages the graft. A control mechanism has a handle adapted to be grasped by a human hand and has first and second parts movable relative to each other. The flexible elongate tubular member of the capsule catheter is secured to the first part, flexible elongate tubular member of the balloon catheter extending through said first part and through the control mechanism. The control mechanism has means for causing movement of the first part with respect to the second part to thereby permit the capsule to be withdrawn from over the graft and permitting the retention means to retain the graft in a position so that it is ejected from the capsule as the first part is moved relative to the second part.

Le mécanisme de contrôle comporte des moyens pour provoquer le mouvement de la première partie par rapport à la deuxième partie, permettant ainsi à la capsule d'être retirée de la greffe, ainsi que pour permettre au moyen de retenue de maintenir la greffe dans une position telle qu'elle sera éjectée de la capsule lorsque la première partie est déplacée par rapport à la deuxième partie.
