A endovascular graft having sensing devices attached thereto to facilitate measurement of pertinent parameters within the vasculature into which the graft is implanted. Power sources and transmitters may be attached to the graft to facilitate transmission of measurements to a receiving device outside the patient's body. The sensing devices, may be electrically passive or integrated devices with measurement and transmission capability. The sensing devices may be attached to specific locations on the graft material or attached to the lumen, thereby providing pertinent parameters from critical points inside the vasculature, or may be dispersed over the surface of the graft material or within the lumen to provide a profile of pertinent parameters. The sensing devices may be attached to the graft material with one or two sutures using a running stitch to minimize graft bulk and may be coated with a material to inhibit or control tissue growth. Methods and apparatus for handling and protecting sensing devices can be employed where the sensing device is particularly fragile. Approaches for effectively and efficiently attaching sensing and other devices to medical devices can also be utilized and are described.
L'invention concerne un greffon endovasculaire auquel sont fixés des dispositifs de détection permettant de faciliter la mesure de paramètres pertinents dans la vasculature dans laquelle le greffon est implanté. Des sources d'énergie et des transmetteurs peuvent être fixés au greffon pour faciliter la transmission de mesures à un dispositif récepteur situé à l'extérieur de l'organisme du patient. Les dispositifs de détection peuvent être des dispositifs électriquement passifs ou intégrés aptes à la mesure et la transmission. Les dispositifs de détection peuvent être attachés aux emplacements spécifiques de la matière greffon ou attachés au lumen, ce qui permet d'obtenir des paramètres pertinents de points critiques à l'intérieur de la vasculature, ou bien ils peuvent être dispersés sur la surface de la matière greffon ou dans le lumen pour fournir un profil de paramètres pertinents. Les dispositifs de détection peuvent être attachés à la matière greffon avec une ou deux sutures à l'aide d'un surjet pour réduire au minimum le bouffant de greffon et peuvent être recouverts d'une matière pour inhiber ou contrôler la croissance des tissus. On peut utiliser des procédés et appareils de manipulation et de protection des dispositifs de détection là où le dispositif de détection est particulièrement fragile. Des approches permettant une fixation sûre et efficace de dispositifs de détection et autre aux dispositifs médicaux peuvent également être utilisées et sont décrites dans l'invention.
