Il comporte une structure ancrable dans le puits, des moyens mobiles dont le déplacement linéaire par rapport à la structure ancrable provoque la création d'énergie et des moyens d'accumulation de l'énergie créée, une colonne rigide connectée aux moyens mobiles et des moyens moteurs disposés à l'extérieur du puits pour déplacer linéairement la colonne rigide. Les moyens mobiles et les moyens d'accumulation peuvent être constitués d'une masse et d'un dispositif pour élever celle-ci ou bien encore d'un système hydraulique comportant une pompe linéaire. L'invention trouve une application dans la prospection sismique.
