ENERGY CONVERSION DEVICES WITH IMPROVED ELECTRODE SHAPES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved electrical conversion device of the type wherein a porous conductive electrode is disposed within the cathodic reaction zone is provided by the provision of a plurality of channels or spaces within the reaction free of and substantially formed from the conductive material of the porous; electrode and a plurality of arms extending from the vicinity of the barrier between anodic and cathodic zones to the exterior of the cathodic reaction zone. This structure promotes and enhances the rate of feeding and extacting of reactants and reaction products to and from reactive sites within the cathodic reaction zone.
