A char-broiler for cooking a food product having a housing, a plurality of burners disposed within housing that defining a cooking zone. The char-broiler also provides for a manifold and at least one valve associated the plurality of burners in the cooking zone; and at least one cover that has a deployed position to cover the plurality of burners in the cooking zone and a non-deployed position to uncover the plurality of burners in the cooking zone. The least one cover is capable of adjusting the flow of gas through at least one valve based on a position of the at least one cover, the temperature in the cooking zone or both position of the at least one cover and a temperature in the cooking zone.

L'invention concerne un gril destiné à cuire un produit alimentaire et doté d'un boîtier, d'une pluralité de brûleurs disposés à l'intérieur dudit boîtier et définissant une zone de cuisson. Le gril comporte également un collecteur et au moins une vanne associée à la pluralité de brûleurs de la zone de cuisson ; et au moins un couvercle possédant une position déployée destinée à recouvrir la pluralité de brûleurs de la zone de cuisson et une position non déployée destinée à découvrir la pluralité de brûleurs de la zone de cuisson. Le ou les couvercles permettent le réglage du débit de gaz par l'intermédiaire d'au moins une vanne en fonction de la position du ou des couvercles et / ou de la température dans la zone de cuisson.
