An energy efficient drive system is provided for use on typical injection molding machines whereby a single electric motor drives both the extruder screw and a hydraulic motor that continuously charges a hydraulic accumulator during the extrusion process. During the injection cycle, the charge in the accumulator is directed to stroke the extruder screw and inject melt into the mold cavities. Another embodiment utilizes a similar arrangement on the clamp mechanism of the injection molding machine whereby the charge in the accumulator is directed to hold the mold closed during the injection cycle.

L'invention concerne une système d'entraînement écoénergétique à utiliser sur des machines de moulage par injection typiques. Selon cette invention, un moteur électrique unique entraîne à la fois la vis d'extrudeuse et le moteur hydraulique qui charge en continu un accumulateur hydraulique durant le processus d'extrusion. Durant le cycle d'injection, la charge dans l'accumulateur est destinée à entraîner la vis d'extrudeuse et à injecter la matière fondue dans les cavités de moule. Un autre mode de réalisation fait appel à un arrangement similaire sur le mécanisme de bride de serrage de la machine de moulage par injection, la charge dans l'accumulateur étant destinée à maintenir le moule fermé durant le cycle d'injection.
