A clothes washer is provided comprising one or more power consuming functions and a controller in signal communication with an associated utility. The controller can receive and process a signal from the associated utility indicative of current state of an associat- ed utility. The controller operates the clothes washer in one of a plurality of operating modes, including at least a normal operating mode and an energy savings mode in response to the received signal. The controller is configured to change the power consuming functions by adjusting one or more of an operation schedule, an operation delay, an operation adjustment, and a selective deactivation of at least one of the one or more power consuming functions to reduce power consumption of the clothes washer in the energy savings mode.
La présente invention a pour objet une machine à laver les vêtements comprenant une ou plusieurs fonctions de consommation d'énergie et un dispositif de commande communiquant par transmission de signaux avec un réseau public de distribution d'électricité associé. Le dispositif de commande peut recevoir et traiter un signal provenant du réseau de distribution d'électrique associé, indiquant un état momentané dudit réseau. Le dispositif de commande actionne la machine à laver les vêtements selon un mode de fonctionnement parmi une pluralité de modes de fonctionnement comprenant au moins un mode de fonctionnement normal et un mode d'économie d'énergie en réponse au signal reçu. Le dispositif de commande est conçu pour modifier les fonctions de consommation d'énergie par réglage d'une ou de plusieurs des fonctionnalités suivantes : programmation du fonctionnement, retard de fonctionnement, modification du fonctionnement, et désactivation sélective d'au moins une des fonctions de consommation d'énergie pour réduire la consommation d'énergie de la machine à laver les vêtements dans le mode d'économie d'énergie.
