An energy polymerizable composition comprising at least one cationically curable 5 or 6 membered 1,3 oxazyl heterocyclic compounds including 1,3-oxazoline and 1,3-oxazine monomers or compound and a catalytically effective amount of an initiator comprising an organometallic compound, wherein such oxazoline homopolymers and copolymers exhibit increased rates of reaction, improved thermal stability, and higher glass transition temperatures. The resultant adhesive compositions are particularly useful in electronic applications, such as bonding to polyimide sheets or film, flexible circuits or fiber optic connectors.

Composition polymérisable par l'énergie comprenant au moins un composé hétérocyclique de 1,3 oxazyle à 5 ou 6 éléments polymérisable par des cations, comprenant des monomères de 1,3-oxazoline et de 1,3-oxazine ou un composé et une quantité catalytiquement efficace d'un initiateur comprenant un composé organo-métallique, lesdits homopolymères et copolymères d'oxazoline se caractérisant par des vitesses de réaction améliorées, une meilleure résistance à la chaleur et des températures de transition vitreuse plus élevées. Les compositions adhésives résultantes sont tout particulièrement utiles en électronique, pour souder des feuilles ou un film en polymide, des circuits souples ou des dispositifs de raccordement à fibres optiques.
