-1- BE IT KNOWN that I, JOHN C. MARTIN, a citizen of the United States of America and resident of Fullerton, County of Orange, State of California, have invented new and useful improvements in ENERGY RECOVERY PROM GEOTHERMAL RESERVOIRS CONTAINING BRINE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is described for extracting geothermal energy from a subsurface geothermal reservoir containing undesirable fluids. A fresh or substantially fresh fluid is continuously injected into the subsurface geothermal reservoir to displace the undesirable fluids in the reser- voir and the injected fluid is produced after being heated by the reservoir. Energy is extracted from the produced fluid.
