In the majority of household and commercial electric ranges for cooking purposes, the top surface of the range has a plurality of electric resistance heating units. Each unit consists of a metal-sheathed electric resistance heating coils, a reflector pan, and a trim ring. In this invention with the purpose of energy saving, the shape of the trim ring has been modified to reduce the radiation and convection heat loss from the air gap around the heating coil.
