An engine cover (80) with integrated ignition system components that provides a protective enclosure for ignition coils (22) in a distributorless ignition system of an internal combustion engine. The cover (80) serves as a cylinder head cover for sealing over the valve assembly of the engine and for that purpose includes a plastic housing (14) having an upper wall (98) and side walls that extend downwardly to a perimeter mounting surface of the housing (14). The ignition coils (22) are mounted within the compartment and are electrically connected via terminals to high voltage leads (84) that are embedded in the upper wall (98) and that extend laterally to a corresponding second group of terminals located at the lower surface of the upper wall (98).

L'invention porte sur un couvercle (80) de moteur doté de composants d'un système d'allumage intégré qui tient lieu de protection des bobines d'allumage (22) dans un système d'allumage sans distributeur d'un moteur à combustion interne. Le couvercle (80) sert de couvercle de tête de cylindre et recouvre hermétiquement l'ensemble soupape du moteur et, à cette fin, comporte un boîtier plastique (14) ayant une paroi supérieure (98) et des parois latérales s'étendant vers le bas en direction d'une surface de montage du boîtier (14).
