An system of economizing engine operation by automatically shifting the transmission of a motorized vehicle into a neutral gear from a drive gear when predetermined conditions exist. A RPM sensing assembly (12). A brake condition sensing assembly (16). A transmission control assembly (20) shifts the transmission from a lower drive gear to the neutral gear when the first predetermined condition relating to RPM's and the second predetermined condition relating to the braking mode concurrently exist. Absence of either of the aforementioned predetermined conditions will prevent the automatic shifting of the transmission into the neutral gear. In addition, once the transmission has been automatically shifted into the neutral gear it will shift back into a low gear when either of the predetermined conditions fail to concurrently exist. An activation assembly (10) as well as safety measures (68) are incorporated to allow for manual or automatic activation/de- activation depending on driving conditions.
La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé associé destinés à économiser un fonctionnement de moteur en faisant passer automatiquement au point mort la transmission d'un véhicule motorisé lorsque des conditions spécifiques, prédéterminées se présentent. Le système comprend un assemblage capteur de TPM (12) et un assemblage capteur de conditions de freinage (16). Un assemblage de commande de transmission (20) fait passer la transmission d'une vitesse inférieure au point mort lorsqu'existent simultanément la première condition prédéterminée concernant la vitesse de rotation moteur et la seconde condition prédéterminée relative au mode de freinage du véhicule. L'absence de l'une ou l'autre de ces conditions prédéterminées empêche le passage automatique de la transmission au point mort. En outre, une fois réalisé le passage de la transmission au point mort, la transmission repasse automatiquement sur une vitesse inférieure lorsque l'une ou les deux des première et seconde conditions prédéterminées n'existe plus. Un assemblage de déclenchement (10) aussi bien que des mesures de sécurité (68) sont incorporés afin de permettre un enclenchement/déclenchement manuel, sélectif, ou un déclenchement automatique en fonction des conditions de conduite.
