The present invention is related with the field of Biomedicine. It comprises the engineering of the Pertactin protein (Prn) and using it as part of bacterial vaccines, and more precisely, as part of acellular vaccines against Bordetella pertusis. The engineered Prn molecules comprise on their structure polimorfisms from different B. pertussis strains, and induce immune responses with protective capacity and opsonophagocytic activity when assayed as vaccines, higher than that generated by other pre-existing vaccines. The engineered Prn variants of the present invention are applicable in human and veterinary medicine.
La présente invention concerne le domaine de la biomédecine et comprend la production par génie génétique de la protéine pertactine (Prn) en vue de son obtention et de son utilisation dans des vaccins bactériens, et notamment dans des vaccins acellulaires contre Bordetella pertussis. Les pertactines produites par génie génétique comprennent dans leur structure le polymorphisme de différentes souches. Utilisées comme vaccins, elles induisent une réponse d'anticorps caractérisée par une capacité protectrice et une activité opsonocytophagique accrues. Les variants de pertactine produits par génie génétique de l'invention peuvent être utilisés en médecine humaine et vétérinaire.
