This invention relates to the field of bolting and flowering time control in sugar beet, specifically to methods as well as nucleic acid molecules, chimeric constructs, and vectors for engineering bolting resistance in sugar beet by means of altering the expression of the Beta vulgaris homologues BvFT1 and BvFT2 of the FT gene. In particular, the present invention provides sugar beet plants having a phenotype of bolting resistance.
La présente invention concerne le domaine de contrôle de la montée à graines et du temps de floraison de la betterave, notamment des procédés ainsi que des molécules dacide nucléique, des constructions chimériques, et des vecteurs pour la modification par génie génétique de la résistance à la montée à graines de la betterave grâce à laltération de lexpression des homologues BvFT1 et BvFT2 de Beta vulgaris du gène FT. En particulier, la présente invention concerne des plantes de betterave présentant un phénotype de résistance à la montée à graines.
