A method for enhancing the conversion of a phenol substrate to a product by a peroxidase enzyme comprises the steps of reacting a conjugate comprising a detectably labeled phenol with a peroxidase enzyme in the presence of an enhancing reagent, the enhancing reagent comprising an inorganic salt, an organic compound having formula (I) wherein when X is B(OH)2, Y is I, or wherein when X is OH, Y is a halogen, or Q-R wherein Q is a linear or branched 1-12 heteroatom alkyl wherein the heteroatoms are selected from C, N, O, and S, wherein the bonds connecting the heteroatom alkyl chain are single or double, wherein any carbon atom in the heteroatom alkyl chair optionally includes a substituent selected from -OH, -COOH, -NH2, and -SH, and wherein R is selected from -OH, -COOH, -NH2, and -CH3; or mixtures of the inorganic salt and the organic compound. A compound having formula (II) wherein R1 is -CH2OH, -COOH, and n is 1-8.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de stimuler la transformation d'un substrat phénol en un produit au moyen d'une peroxydase. Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir un conjugué comprenant un phénol à marquage détectable avec une peroxydase en présence d'un réactif stimulant, lequel comprend un sel inorganique, un composé organique représenté par la formule (I) dans laquelle, lorsque X représente B(OH)2, Y représente I, ou dans laquelle, lorsque X représente OH, Y représente un halogène ou Q-R, où Q représente un alkyle d'hétéroatome 1-12 linéaire ou ramifié, où les hétéroatomes sont choisis dans le groupe constitué par C, N, O et S, où les liaisons reliant la chaîne de l'alkyle d'hétéroatome sont simples ou doubles, où tout atome de carbone de la chaîne de l'alkyle d'hétéroatome comprend éventuellement un substituant choisi dans le groupe constitué par -OH, -COOH, -NH2 et -SH, et où R est choisi dans le groupe constitué par -OH, -COOH, -NH2 et -CH3.
