Intra vaginal devices having an improved in vivo performance insofar as release characteristics are concerned. The devices rely on a polymer matrix impregnated not only with the active ingredient (e.g.: progesterone) to be released but also a suitable cyclodextrin. Suitable polymers include poly (.epsilon.-caprolactone) and starch-like polysaccharides.
L'invention concerne des dispositifs intravaginaux possédant des performances in vivo améliorées en matière de caractéristiques de libération. Les dispositifs sont basés sur une matrice polymère imprégnée avec non seulement un composant actif devant se libérer (tel que la progestérone) mais aussi avec une cyclodextrine convenable.
