Liquefied hydrocarbon gas carried by a tanker (78) is transferred to an import terminal (10) where the liquefied gas is heated to vaporize it and to heat the cold gas to at least -30°C but preferably about 0°C, with the warmed gas transferred to a gas receiving facility (20, 83). Vaporizing and heating is accomplished by using a large number (more than 10) of vertically mounted air vaporizers (84) of a known type, which use environmental air that flows down the exterior of the finned tubes in which the liquefied or cold gas flows. In the present invention a large number of individual vaporizers are positioned in close proximity to each other, i.e. within a distance that is smaller than half the vertical height of the vaporizer tubes. Their close proximity allows many units to be installed on a small plot space, and also affects their thermal performance.
L'invention concerne un procédé par lequel un hydrocarbure gazeux liquéfié transporté par un navire-citerne (78) est transféré à un terminal (10) d'importation où le gaz liquéfié est chauffé pour le vaporiser et pour réchauffer le gaz froid jusqu'à au moins -30°C, mais de préférence à environ 0°C, le gaz réchauffé étant transféré à une installation (20, 83) de réception du gaz. La vaporisation et le chauffage sont réalisés à l'aide d'un grand nombre (plus de 10) de vaporiseurs (84) à air d'un type connu montés verticalement, qui utilisent de l'air ambiant circulant le long de l'extérieur des tubes à ailettes dans lesquels circule le gaz liquéfié ou froid. Dans la présente invention, un grand nombre de vaporiseurs individuels sont positionnés à proximité immédiate les uns des autres, c'est-à-dire à une distance inférieure à la moitié de la hauteur verticale des tubes de vaporiseurs. Leur proximité immédiate permet d'installer de nombreuses unités sur un espace au sol réduit et affecte également leurs performances thermiques.
