A method of dynamically controlling traction of a locomotive (V) having a plurality of axles (A1-A6) on each of which are mounted wheels (W) for moving the locomotive over a set of rails (R). A creep control signal (creep_ n) is provided to a controller (TMTC) for each axle to move the locomotive over the rails, the creep control signal being a function of adhesion operation characteristics (tractive effort, torque, creep) for that axle. An advisory signal (ccc_n) combining values representative of the adhesion quality of the two axles is provided to the controller to maximize the tractive effort of the axle if the adhesion quality of the other axle is a maximum for the current rail conditions. This reduces the amount of time for the axle to attain its maximum tractive effort when rail conditions change.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de commander de manière dynamique la traction d'une locomotive (V) comprenant une pluralité d'essieux (A1-A6) sur lesquels des roues (W) sont montées, aux fins de déplacement de la locomotive sur un ensemble de rails (R). Un signal de commande du cheminement (creep_ n) est fourni à une unité de commande (TMTC) pour chaque essieu, aux fins de déplacement de la locomotive sur les rails, le signal de commande du cheminement étant une fonction des caractéristiques d'opération d'adhésion (effort de traction, couple, cheminement) pour cet essieu. Un signal d'avis (ccc_n) combinant des valeurs représentant la qualité d'adhésion des deux essieux est fourni à l'unité de commande, aux fins de maximisation de l'effort de traction de l'essieu si la qualité d'adhésion de l'autre essieu est un maximum pour les états actuels des rails, réduisant ainsi le temps nécessaire à l'essieu pour atteindre son effort de traction maximal quand les états des rails changent.
