A control system (104)/method for semi-automatically executing manually or automatically selected upshifts and downshifts of a mechanical transmission system (10) is provided. The control system includes a central processing unit (106) for receiving input signals indicative of transmission input shaft (16) and output shaft (90) speeds, the throttle pedal position (THD) and from a driver control console (108) indicative of selection of upshifts or downshifts from a currently engaged gear ratio and processing the same in accordance with predetermined logic rule to issue command output signals to a transmission actuator (112, 70, 96) and to a fuel controller operator to implement a shift substantial synchronization of the transmission after manual initiation of the shift sequence by a manually caused torque break.
L'invention vise un système/une méthode (104) de commande permettant d'exécuter semi-automatiquement des changements de rapport ascendants ou descendants déterminés manuellement ou automatiquement, sur un système de transmission mécanique (10). Le système de commande comprend un processeur central (106) auquel sont acheminés les signaux correspondant aux vitesses de l'arbre d'entrée (16) et de l'arbre de sortie (90) de la transmission, à la position de la pédale d'accélérateur (THD). € partir d'une indication, sur le tableau de bord du conducteur (108), d'une sélection de changement de rapport ascendant ou descendant, selon le rapport de démultiplication courant, le système traite lesdits signaux en fonction d'une règle logique prédéterminée, et transmet des signaux de sortie de commande à un actionneur de transmission (112, 70, 96) et à un organe de commande de l'alimentation en essence, afin d'assurer une synchronisation substantielle du changement de rapport de la transmission après l'amorce par un débrayage manuel de la séquence de changement de rapport.
