A process for producing a fermentation product from a lignocellulose- containing material includes pre-treating the lignocellulose-containing material; introducing chitosan or a chitosan-like polymer to the pre-treated lignocellulose-containing material; exposing the pre-treated lignocellulose-containing material to an effective amount of a hydrolyzing enzyme; and fermenting with a fermenting organism to produce a fermentation product.

L'invention un procédé pour produire un produit de fermentation à partir d'un matériau contenant de la lignocellulose. Ce procédé consiste à prétraiter le matériau contenant de la lignocellulose; introduire le chitosane ou un polymère de type chitosane dans le matériau prétraité contenant de la lignocellulose; exposer le matériau prétraité contenant de la lignocellulose à une quantité efficace d'un enzyme d'hydrolysation, et le faire fermenter avec un organisme de fermentation pour produire un produit de fermentation.
