ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: 9-.beta.-D-arabinofuranosyladenine derivatives represent- ed by the formula (I): Image (I) wherein R1 designates hydrogen or an acyl group and R2 designates a hydroxyl group, a phosphoric acid residue or an alkyl- or alkenylphosphate residue; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are disclosed as being effective for enhancing anti-tumor effect afforded by irradiation to or administration of an anti- tumor pharmaceutical to tumor-bearing animals.
